General overview

During the reporting period, 1 March 2022 to 28 February 2023, the OAC met regularly to discuss and decide about matters that are to the benefit of the oilseeds industry and specifically sunflower, soybean, groundnut and canola.

The OAC is tasked with inviting research proposals, considering, approving and recommending research projects for funding and managing the research projects. This is a mammoth task and the OAC appointed a Research Priority Committee, comprising of Dr E Briedenhann, Mr JP Botma, Dr J Dreyer and Dr M Visser to assist the OAC.

The projects managed by the OAC related to aspects such as research, transformation, technology transfer, generic marketing of commodities, market access and information.

The projects are categorised into new projects, continuation projects, joint projects, transformation projects and provisions.
